NORTH BORNEO RAINFOREST EXPEDITION (Wednesday ONLY) Duration 07 Days / 06 Nights Day 01: TARAKAN, LONG LAYU ( LD) In the morning meeting service and transfer to the airport for your flight to Long Bawan or Long Layu, upon arrival at Long Bawan/Layu where the wild adventure awaits. Check in at the Homestay or Local House, afternoon trek through the surrounded forest and village to catch a first glimpse of the area. The Krayan area is famous of it's Salt-making activity. In the past, the salt from Krayan was traded in exchange for living. The salt is used to preserve meat, as a medicine and tonic. In Krayan Hulu, the salt is extracted through boiling from the water of salt springs found in small streams. Two active salt production sites exist in Long Layu and can be visited. Overnights at Local House or Home stay. Day 02: LONG LAYU, TANJUNG PASIR ( LONG RUNGAN) (BLD) Trek Through the Forest of Krayan north Borneo passing the dry rice fields called ladang, visit Honey Rock of about 40-meter high in the middle of the forest, the biodiversity is diverse and rich here. Several bat caves and or old grave sites can be visited. Views from the top of the hills over the forest stretching out to the distant ridges is splendid. Meals En route and overnight at Local House or Home stay. Day 03: TANJUNG PASIR (LONG RUNGAN), TANG TAAN(BLD) Downstream Tanjung Pasir we move to Tang Laan along the Krayan River, The River is has some rapids that can't be passed and have to done by trekking. On the way we will pass a carving of a human figure on the rock. Further downstream, is a large pool with small cascades. Meals enroute and overnight at Local House or Home stay. Day 04 & 06 : TANG TAAN, AUPING, FOREST TREK, LONG BAWAN (BLD) Two Full days forest trek to Long Bawan, lots of wildlife, almost never seen, will show up here, plenty of primates including Gibbons and Leaf monkeys, hornbills and a lot more will show up along the way.Overnight at Village, or Jungle Camp Day 07: LONG BAWAN, TARAKAN (B) Upon Arrival at Long Bawan we will catch the flight to Tarakan from where you can travel to your next destination. Note: -Flight schedule Tuesday & Wednesday only for the route Tarakan – Long Bawan - Tarakan. -Other Days Chratered flights for USD 800 per flight one way with small Cesna Plane ( Chartered and have not more the 4 seats ) for larger groupsizes, we have to fly the group in and out of the area separated with the cost USD 800 one way. -Even Chartered flights are booked and confirmed, weather, emergency, and other conditions could cause delay of one or more days for the flight schedule. -For Rate request, we need a schedule / date, check the availability of planes and can make a price for your wished upon group size.
